Dubai Bone and Joint Center (DBAJ), the leading regional Musculoskeletal Center based in Dubai Healthcare City, has joined hands with Tetra Pak Arabia, the world’s largest food processing and packaging company, to raise awareness about osteoporosis amongst school children in Dubai, reported AMEInfo.
The campaign which is a prelude to World Osteoporosis Day celebrated annually on 20th October, aims to educate children on the benefits of milk consumption, staying active and keeping abreast of the risk factors in order to prevent osteoporosis.
Starting 18th October, Tetra Pak Arabia and DBAJ have organised awareness seminars which will be conducted for children of grades 3-5 and grades 8-10 across private and public schools. The first seminar will be conducted in association with Dubai Autism Centre and will address the parents of children with Autism.
These seminars will be facilitated by Dr. Shah Khan, a renowned Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon at Dubai Bone and Joint Center. He will engage with students through a series of interactive games and fun workshops, focusing on topics of interest in Osteoporosis and utilization of milk. After the seminars, Tetra Pak milk packages and gifts will be distributed amongst the children.
