Al-Futtaim won the HR Initiative of the Year award at the Middle East HR Summit Excellence Awards 2009 this week for combining the SAP-based Human Capital Management System and e-recruitment processes to create a world-class HR infrastructure.
The Group’s impressive win was greatly acknowledged during a gala awards ceremony on November 9 which showcased the best HR talent in the Middle East and honoured HR professionals for their outstanding contributions in creating a high performing workforce for the future.
“We are extremely happy to note that our project has been recognised as an innovative and influential, world class initiative that has been aligned with the Group’s business strategy and organisational values. The formation of HR Shared Services (hr.connect) and centralised recruitment processes has greatly enhanced the image of the Group as an employer of choice for Emiratis and expatriates,” said Alexander Campbell, Group Director, Human Resources, Al-Futtaim.
“Awards like these not only add value to a winning organisation but indeed reflects well on the UAE’s business landscape and the rapid development in the country of advanced HR practices,” Mr. Campbell added.
