The Ministry of Education signed today a new agreement with Emirates Transport for providing capable supervisors in buses transporting school children in Dubai, Sharjah and Northern Emirates, reported Emirates News Agency.
HE Humaid Al Qatami, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Emirates Transport stressed the keenness of the ministry to provide safe transport for children and take care of them until they reach their homes.
He said that the relationship between schools and children does not end when the classes are dispersed.
The minister attended today the signing of the agreement by Ali Maihed Al Suwaidi, Acting Director General of the Ministry of Education and Mohammed Abdullah Al Jaraman, Director General of the Emirates Transport.
Al Qatami said that the ministry has set aside AED 23million to provide well trained and effective supervisors in the school buses for children in KG and primary stages.
He urged school administrations and parents to enhance cooperation stressing that the safety of children calls for the concerted efforts of all.
