HP has been striving to help SMBs address increasing budget pressures with a new interactive platform called “Emirates SMB Round Table”. This platform discussed growing needs for printing solutions and programs with enhanced print management tools that enable SMBs to drive down their printing costs and reduce their energy consumption.
SMBs make up a significant economic force in the UAE and these segments are continually seeking new ways to increase their productivity and technological infrastructure. According to the Planning and Economy Department in Abu Dhabi, SMBs contribute to 94 percent of the total projects in the UAE, followed by 92 per cent in Bahrain, Oman and Qatar, 78 per cent in Kuwait and 75 per cent in KSA. Although the economic crisis did not affect SMBs as seriously as it did large enterprises, SMBs have become increasingly concerned about cost issues, particularly surrounding their printing and imaging needs.
“The round table discussions with SMBs from different industries gave us an important insight into how we can address the specific needs of this very important industry segment. SMB customers have specific requirements and require solutions that ensure reliability and quality at a competitive price. To satisfy these requirements, we are expanding our portfolio, incorporating more user need-based products which are cost effective and have higher quality outputs” said Amin Mortazawi, General Manager, HP Middle East Imaging and Printing Group.
During the discussions, SMBs suggested various factors which could improve their printing and imaging outputs which form the core of their business productivity process. As a result of the round table discussions, HP learned that most SMBs in the UAE will potentially be looking at cost-cutting measures to tide them over during these difficult times. They require faster working, multifunctional printers, which can offer cost effective printing solutions.
“Today, as SMBs, we need to use our resources wisely, working smarter and faster to maintain our competitive edge as the economy recovers in the region” said Berna Ramey from Avenue Design Studios, who took part of the round table event. “We are glad to see that HP offers SMBs an unrivaled opportunity to accelerate growth through innovative technologies and products.” she added.
Nearly two thirds of SMBs that attended the round table forum believe they should make better use of colour printing through the increased use of marketing documents’ devices which offer benefits of low-cost, high quality colour printing.
HP Middle East advised SMBs that they can dramatically drive down business costs with the new HP Officejet Pro series, which delivers up to 50 percent cost-per-page (CPP) and energy savings compared to regular or colour laser printers. By using HP’s industry-leading print management solutions, SMBs can extract tangible savings and increase their business efficiency by taking control of their current printer fleet. HP’s print management solutions enable better control of and access to colour printing and set default duplex printing to reduce paper costs. HP’s digital sending technology, such as send-to-email and digital filing, enables users to convert documents to digital format, thereby saving paper usage and storage costs while enhancing efficiency. For customers who want laser speeds at as little as half the price, HP has introduced the new range of HP Officejet Pro printers that deliver archive quality and water-resistant colour documents for up to 50 percent less cost-per-page and energy use than competing lasers.
