Do You Feel Too Tired To Exercise?
We all get there at times - too exhausted to even think about working out. But you know you still need to. What do you do? Is is just lack of inspiration or is it a physical problem. Here are a few ideas to help in both areas.
Get your iron levels checked
If you already do exercises and find your are approaching your daily workout with excessive fatigue and lack of drive, see your general practitioner and have your iron level checked. Your physician can do a blood test referred to as a ferreting level which measures your body's stores of iron. Aerobic training can cause slow reduction of iron levels with iron being lost by way of sweating and through leakage of small amounts into the abdomen with repeated movements. Plus, it's not unusual for women of child bearing age to have an iron deficiency. If you're low on iron, iron supplementation may well make a difference in your energy levels and your attitude towards exercise.
Work out after you awaken in the morning
If you feel exhausted and less motivated to do exercises in the evening, try getting up thirty minutes earlier and get your training session done before your day starts. An early morning training session can help to energize and motivate you for the rest of the day. And also, you can look forward to an evening of relaxation knowing you've completed your goal. This can be a simple answer to the obstacle of being too tired to work out.
Do it anyway
Occasionally the best cure for tiredness is a vigorous exercise session. Have you ever noticed how you can stroll into the health club dog-tired but after thirty minutes of motion you feel keyed up and invigorated? There's not anything like exercise to get your blood flowing and zap fatigue. If it's not easy for you to get motivated to make that outing to the club, promise yourself a small reward after you complete your session. Just make sure it isn't a piece of chocolate!
Lighten your exercises
On evenings that you're too worn-out to work out, follow a lighter, less difficult routine. To encourage yourself to make the first step, say to yourself you will only exercise for ten minutes. After 10 minutes have elapsed, odds are you'll feel so invigorated that you will want to keep going.
Change your work out format
If you feel drained with a lack of motivation towards training on a particular evening, vary your exercises entirely and alternate something fun. Instead of walking thirty minutes on the treadmill at the club, take your dog for a brisk walk or do thirty minutes of stretches as you watch your favorite movie. You can switch back to your regular program the next time you train and the variety will be helpful for you both physically and psychologically.
Give these tips a try and in a little while you'll no longer need the old excuse of being too worn-out to exercise. Plus, you'll look and feel like a new person.
